Information about the City of Elda
The City of Elda is situated in the Western part of Alicante’s province. The Municipal District stretches over 44.86 square kilometres. Elda is bounded by Sax to the Northern part, Monóvar and Novelda to the South; Petrer to the East and Salinas and Monóvar to the West. The city lies on the area known as Valle de Elda, mid-course of the River Vinalopó.
The urban area is surrounded by some massifs belonging to the Betic Range, mainly heading southwest-northeast: la Torreta-Monastil north; las Pedrizas and Umbria Ranges west; el Cid Range east; and Mount Bateig south. The valley also includes the municipal districts of Monóvar, Petrer and Novelda.
The city of Elda is a major industrial core. As the financial and administrative capital city of the region, it is very well served by a complete road network that links Elda to both Alicante and Madrid. The city is perfectly connected throughout the whole region.
